catalyst4thecreator 0 Posted April 8, 2010 I am not hungry at all; I am still having gas pains & very "burpy". I had coffee when I woke up, then an Atkins Protein Shake around 10am, now I am drinking Ice-T & I am good to go.* I just have this "tight" feeling in my stomach...like someone punched me in the gut or something??? Do you have anything like that? What are you eating? And how are you feeling? I'm from Houston...what about Ya'll?
arthukd 1 Posted April 8, 2010 my doc recommends liquids/mushee for the day after the fill, but I have found I need to get myself longer to adjust. I tried to go back on regular food to soon and got stuck which lead to vomitting which lead to a swollen angry stomach and the cycle continued for 2-3 weeks. I got stuck again on Easter b/c I didn't want my parents worrying that something was wrong and I tried to eat solid food - mistake! this time I am giving my tummy pleanty of time to heal from the past few weeks of irritation before I attempt "real food." arthukd 1 Posted April 8, 2010 catalyst - that is exactly how I felt - like i had been punched in the chest and I tried to eat through it! And that was the beginning of the end for me!! I would really stick to what your doc recommends w/ 3 days liquid & 3 days soft/mushiee and hopefully you wont go through what I have been through the past 3 weeks!!! I really wish I had stayed on liquids & mushies longer when I got my last fill. The first fill wasn't a problem so it didn't occur to me that I might need to wait longer. Lesson learned! Since Monday I have only had Protein Shakes, Soup, & crackers...I know that is not liquid but it turns to mush and I really needed something to chew! Today I have moved on to a chunker soup and some refried Beans. I will probably stay on this phase for the next 4 days or so...I might add some tuna salad see how that goes. catalyst4thecreator 0 Posted April 8, 2010 Yes, today is day 2 of liquids, I don't know what I am going to do tonight, because we are going out to a Steak House with some friends who are out of town, however they do know I had surgery, so it shouldn't be that awkward; I will probably order some Ice-T...& do all the talking!!! lol.*
Woodstock girl 0 Posted April 8, 2010 That's how I feel too. I so wish I had gotten bypass! I hate this band, truly I do. Of course, once I'm not feeling so sick, I will probably love it again! lol
BetsyB 9 Posted April 8, 2010 My doctor doesn't require liquids or mushy foods after fills, either. He does recommend, however, that we carefully listen to our bodies. And my body now tells me something completely different, after a fill, than it did after the first couple. As you approach good restriction, you are, as my doctor put it, "toeing the line between good restriction and too much restriction." You have to pay real attention to what your body tells you--and if it tells you, "I need to stick to Fluid or soft stuff until this swelling goes down," you need to do it. Some doctors cut to the chase and make it part of their protocol---because really, most people do need to baby their bands a bit after a fill as they get closer to the sweet spot. If you think you've been pushed a bit past that spot, go in for a little unfill.
Woodstock girl 0 Posted April 8, 2010 I'm going to baby it for a while longer and see if it relaxes a little more. If it does, I am pretty sure I will be at the sweet spot. If it doesn't relax a bit by Monday, I will ask the doc to remove 1/10th of a cc.
