NancySmiles 2 Posted November 12, 2005 My Dad passed away 6/30/05, and his funeral was delayed in honor of the Fourth of July holiday. I know he was very proud to have left this world on the very holiday we Celebrate our Independence, the independence he fought to preserve. Stephen, my Dad, was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps and served in Guam, Iwo Jima, Korea, Bogenville... I have never felt more proud than I did on the day of his funeral, when two Marines, in their dress blues, escorted his coffin into the chapel, and very reverently folded the American flag to present to us, his family. And the most touching part of the ceremony was when they played "Taps" on the bugle...saluting a man who was proud to be a Marine...and proud to be an American....and I am proud to be his daughter.......... I salute you Dad.....and all those you represent.........

tomorrowsdream 0 Posted November 12, 2005 As we speak I have a son-in-law serving in Iraq. I pray for him and all the other troops each and every day. What a great sacrifice they have made for us. I was an Air Force wife for 16 years myself and know first hand how dedicated these guys are.
