If you could move your port would you?

Recommended Posts

Where is your port now and where would it be if you could change it?

I have an opportunity to move my port location. I am on the fence.

I'd be interested in where my choices would be.

Mine is to the left of my belly button by about 3 inches and a little below my waist.

The only thing I don't like about its location is that sometimes the waistband of my pants bothers it. Low-rise pants are fine and looser are good. But if at all tight and higher waisted, ugh.

Mine is also about 3 inches left of my bellybutton, but on my waistline so when I eat, I have to losen my belt. It doesn't hurt or anything like that, but I can tell it's there.

Hi:

My port is just below my rib cage in the middle. I love it being there because I never have to think about anything rubbing on it. Also, it lays nice and flat there.

Best wishes to you.

Sue

Mine is to the right of the belly button and up between my waist and ribcage....can feel it with effort, so far it's not noticeable and wastebands don't bother it at all, but it's low enough bras don't rub either.

Choices I am considering are Below breastbone or in its current place which to the left of the belly button.

Even tho my port is at waist level, I have to tell you that at the beginning of this journey, it started just to the left of my sternum near my rib cage. Has been interesting seeing the scar move from under my left boob to close to my waist as I've lost the weight.

I hate where my port is...right midriff. Looks like a golf ball or alien trying to break through!!!!! When I am sure I am doing well maintaining I am going to have it moved and replaced with a smaller port.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
