Spydr 0 Posted December 16, 2005 I too was born at the old Corsicana Hospital. It is long gone now. If you had said not Ferris I would have guessed Fairfield. It's the small town girl in me!
MyKdsDad 1 Posted December 17, 2005 I hear ya! So now, the next move for us is MsJoy's pre-op Dr visit on the 22nd. She'll have to make that on her own. I've got to work.
Ruthie 2 Posted December 19, 2005 any chance that Dr. Jay does fills and follow ups on Mexican bandsters. I recently moved to the Dallas area and don't have a local dr. he sounds like a nice guy.

MyKdsDad 1 Posted December 23, 2005 Ruthe, I talked to Dr J yesterday and he told me that "Yes" he does fills for anyone at the Richardson Surgery Center, Richardson, TX. Contact his office, I guess, or call the Surgery Center for pricing. His website is www.texaslapbandcenter.com click on Contact Us for the phone number to his office. Ruthie 2 Posted December 23, 2005 Thank you so much!! I really appreciate the info and your willingness to find out for me!! Merry Christmas!
MyKdsDad 1 Posted December 27, 2005 Spydr, How was your Christmas? We're headed up to get banded tomorrow. The liquid diet over the holiday was NOT a good thing, but MsJoy did very well. Better than I would have, me thinks. Ruthie, I can't believe that you want to lose 13 pounds by March 30th. The way you're going it will be waaaaaaaaaaay before March, not to mention the 30th. DiDi 0 Posted January 2, 2006 Hi everyone. My first post. I had consult with Dr. Cha and haven't actually spoken to Dr. Jay yet. I just got the OK from insurance & had the labs & EKG, but no surgery date set yet. Also I haven't been to a seminar as they cancelled the one for Dec. I'm concerned that the diet before surgery will be real hard. I guess it depends on how much you really want the surgery. Just afraid it will interfere with my job, like getting dizzy or something. MyKdsDad 1 Posted January 3, 2006 DiDi, MsJoy says she made sure that she kept herself "full". Don't let your tummy start grumbling. She was afraid of the headaches and getting the shakes, but she didn't have any of those things.
DiDi 0 Posted January 3, 2006 thanks. How the heck do you start a brand-new thread here? All I can figure out is a reply...
sdsgermany 0 Posted January 9, 2006 Hi, I am new to this message board. I was a self pay and went to Monterrey Mexico to have my Lap Band done. It was I have to say a wonderfull experience. I have my first appointment with Dr Jay On Wed for a fill. I am a self pay. Does anyone know how much a fill is with him? I'm very excited to get my first fill. How do they know how much to put in. Is this something we request (the amount). It has been 6 weeks since my surgery and I have lost almost 20 lbs. but my weight loss has stopped. I can now eat almost anything... slow. but what I hate the most is not being able to drink anything while I eat!! I cant wait to meet Dr. Jay I have heard such wonderful things about him!! MyKdsDad 1 Posted January 9, 2006 Shannon, he's been great with my wife, so far. She has her two week check up on Thursday. I'm sorry, I don't know what he charges for a fill, but I do know that he does them at the Richardson Surgery Center. WoooHooooo, 20 lbs ! That's great! Congratulations! I believe that with the fills, they sort of have a set amount they put in and then they go from there. Most of what I've been hearing is 1.5 cc.
julieplunk 0 Posted January 13, 2006 Hello Everyone! It has been a while since I have posted and I wanted to update and all the exciting things going on.. I have been approved for the lapband. I can't believe I got in and got approved that quick.. I started my liquids on Tuesday and I am hanging in there but it sucks. I know it is all for the best though and I am very determined and I have lots of will power. I have lost 50 lbs to date and I am on my way to a new life.. I will keep everyone posted on my progress.. Good Day to all !
MyKdsDad 1 Posted January 13, 2006 Julie, congratulations! Dr Jay really is great! My wife had her two week post-op visit today and she's on mushies now. Lost 13 lbs since surgery on the 28th of December. Shannon, I did find out today that fills are $50 in Dr Jay's office, $150 - $250 if they do them in the out patient clinic at Medical City Dallas. Next month Dr Jay is moving to his new offices and they haven't set an amount for them, over there, yet.
DiDi 0 Posted January 14, 2006 I'm going to seminar tomorrow. Everythings been approved & all tests passed & just waiting to set a date with Dr.Jay. Darn, I hope fills won't be very much at new office. By the way, I haven't really heard about a new office. Have any info on where its at? I've just been to Medical City office. And Thursday I saw 2 little blonde-haired conjoined twin girls in the lobby, wonder if going to try to seperate. Hope they do well whatever the case, the are joined at top of heads, poor little darlings.
