It seems to push its way back out my throat after getting this major pain in my chest that will not go away. I DO EAT VERY SMALL BITES AND CHEW CHEW CHEW AND IT DOESNT MATTER IT STILL HURTS TO EAT. SO THEN I GO DRINK Water GO TO BATHROOM AND BEND OVER IT COMES RIGHT OUT AND FILLS SO MUCH BETTER. I CAN NOT STAND THE PAIN AND ALL IT TAKES IS THE WATER AND SIMPLY BENDING OVER OUT IT COMES. I REALIZE THIS IS NOT HEALTHY AND I CANNOT CONTINUE TO DO THAT SO MY QUESTION IS SHOULD I GET AN A LITTLE UNFILL. i FEEL I SHOULD BE ABLE TO EAT SAY HALF PIECE A CHICKEN BREAST AND SAY SOME GREENS BEANS WITHOUT IT HURTING OR COMING BACK UP. HELP ANY ADVICE PLEASE

I am new to this, and not on solid food yet, but it sounds like you are filled too tightly.....

How long has this tightness been going on? I struggle with certain foods which are often completely unpredictable and illogical but that is just the way I am. Could just be that those foods dont work for you. The other thing I find is that hormones have a big impact on my restriction - leading up to that time of the month I get really really tight and chicken breast, or any meat for that matter is out of the question - other times I can eat a full chicken breast - makes no sense.

Good luck getting the balance right - at the end of the day if you are not comfortable most of the time then it is probably best to get an unfill.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
