Ring and shoe size change?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone noticed significant changes in ring or shoe size after their weight loss? I'm a mother of twins and alot of girls in my club had shoe size changes after their babies were born. Imagine throwing out a closet full of size 7 shoes and starting over! Thanks everyone!

I have lost 2 ring sizes and have ring guards on my wedding and engagement rings (I still want to wear them) I am almost down 100 and plan on taking them all to the jewlers when I am down 125 to get them all resized. As for my shoe size when I got pregnant with my first son I wore a size 9 then when he was born I was up to a 10, then the second child came along and I was a HUGE size 11 now becuase of the weightloss I am back to a 10 and I hope I will get back into my 9's. I have saved all my good shoes in 9's and 10's but am happy to throw out the 11's

I have lost significant ring sizes and have had to resize in order not to lose my rings. BE CAREFUL! You don't want to find out the hard way that your heirloom engagement ring is too big.

My feet have not changed, much. I've always been a 10 and still am. I don't need a wide anymore, though. :)

Shoe size was one of the first things I noticed. I've returned to my 'normal' size of 6.5, some 6's. Rings, definitely 1 size.

My wedding band falls off about 5 times a day currently. Been meaning to go get a ring guard, as this one can't be resized. Guess I should do it sooner rather than later :/

My shoes have gone from a size 9 to a size 8 .. but if I buy knee high boots, I still get the 9 for the extra room in the calves (mine are soooooooo fat lol).

I'm having fun wearing all my cool rings that didn't fit five months ago. Yesterday I wore one that hadn't been worn in a long time. I don't have a wedding ring so I have fun wearing all kinds of different rings. I am SO VERY happy about this.

My shoe size hasn't changed dramatically, just from a wide 9 to a regular 9. Would love to get back into all my 8 1/2's I have stored in my basement.

When I've lost significant weight before I've had to get ring squeezies (was never trusting enough my weight would stay off to get a full resize), tighten my watches, and I've had my shoe size go down as much as 2 sizes and fron Wide to Normal.

My shoe size hasnt changed at all on the way up, nor through 3 pregnancies so I doubt it'll change on the way down - but I have recently had to get orthotics and now I cant wear any shoes except my running shoes :-( - I need all new shoes.

I've had my rings resized larger twice over the past 10 years so no doubt they will need to go down again over time.

My shoe size has stayed the same, but my engagement ring is now on my middle finger. I had it resized up when I put on all my weight, it got to the stage where it was too tight on my finger, now it just falls off. I think it may be 2 sizes or so I have gone down....I wish it would come off like that on my belly. :)

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
