Question..??? I got a letter yesterday from my Surgical group telling me that the blood tests showed that I was Vitamin Defincient. and that they called in a script. and I dont know if I should be worred or not. I mean I do live in Central New York were the Sun never comes out.. LOL but serious.. I mean I just hope they say that I can still have the surgery. I google it and it did say that peopl with BMI over 34 can be and it is also cause of heart disease which that has me worred as well. So glad I was able to get that off my chest I was wonding if any one had the same thing.

Thanks,

:smile2:

I was also diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency.....way before opting for the band - I took the prescription and it's fine now. I have to take a D3 supplement now. I don't think it's anything to be too worried about. I also have a potassium deficiency, discovered during pre-op testing. I'm getting banded on Friday and doc told me to eat a banana every day during the pre-op diet. I was kind of thankful for that - sure beats Protein Shakes.< /p>

With everyone wearing sunscreen these days, I am thinking this is becoming more common.

I came up deficient on my last blood test. No biggie, just a supplement and all is well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
