Recommended Posts

i'm not sure what I'm allowed to take for allergy medication. I'm 2 months banded and my allergies have really started to be bad this week. Can anybody give me any suggestions please?!?!

Thanks

I don't have allergies but my doctor's office encourages me to take liquid Benadryl if I have a stuck episode bad enough that I have swelling. It helps with the swelling in the those instance, but am guessing it would be perfect for your alleriges. I buy the Children's medication, but there is adult dosing listed on the packaging as well.

HTH!

A quick call to your doctor's office should be able to clear the question up.

I take Pseudofed when my sinuses are stuffy. The pills are tiny.

Since the band doesn't mess with absorption, as long as the pills aren't horse chokers that will get stuck on the way down, I don't see a problem taking what you usually take.

There is also Zyrtec liquid that is good and it is not suppose to make you sleepy or wire you. I give it to my kids and it is over the counter and they have no side effect from it.

I called my Dr. office and they said any over the counter that does not have NSAIDs would be OK. Some comes in liquid form so no pill to crush. You can not crush the extended release tabs. Check with pharmcy if unsure.:smile2:

I take Zyrtec every day (BAD allergies) and have had no problem swallowing the pills. They're pretty small.

Zyrtec D (Or generic Version - half the price) best allergy med I have EVER taken...and I have tried them ALL. Zyrtec is a small pill...plus like someone said it is now in liquid form...

Generic Zyrtec - been using it for years (daily) and it's tiny enough to go right through. Nasal Crom is another good choice - but it's really just for your nose(obviously).

I have no trouble with Zyrtec or Telfast, normal hayfever type meds. They're tiny pills, can even swallow them without liquid.

the only medication trouble I've had in four years is once or twice, I really have needed an anti inflammatory and I've felt sooooo like I'm risking my band by taking one.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
