Hi, I just signed up to the forum.

I have a BMI of 39.5

I have attempted to lose weight many times

I always lose 20% then rebound again and gain all the weight

My biggest obstacle for the lap band is financing

I also would like to hear about side effects

Welcome to the forum!! I am sure that you will find all the answers you are looking for!! As far as financing goes, I can tell you that I am a self pay patient, and I paid $13,700.00 My insurance has a no WLS clause, so they would not cover any of it. As far as side effects you will see on here that people have different effects if they any at all. The most common are pouch dilation (also known as band slippage), and erosion. I am sure there are more, but I can't think of them right now!!
