Oh Yea! Doing the HAPPY DANCE!

Recommended Posts

It is official! As of this morning, I've lost MORE than I STILL NEED to lose. Yes, I know that 72lbs is still a lot to lose and that the last half of your weight comes off slower than the first half. Still, I did lose 73lbs in just under 10 months (1 week shy of my 10 month BANDiversary). My original plan was to be at my goal weight (180lbs) by the end of 2011. I think that I'm going to challenge myself to reach my goal weight by my 2nd BANDiversary (6/8/2011).

PS~ I also met a mini goal today. I now weigh less than I did when I got married back in 1996. My next mini goal is to weigh 225lbs and reach my 100lbs loss mark.

Thanks everyone for the congrats! You are right SCOTTY D. I should do the HAPPY DANCE everyday. For everyday with my band is truly a great day. I sometimes get down on myself because I feel like I am not losing the weight quick enough or I am not seeing major changes in my body. In reality, I should only be losing 1-2 lbs/week as far as the scale goes (I am). As far as changes w/ my body, I am changing big time. Its just that I see myself everyday and dont really notice the differences.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
