Ok, I don't understand what the problem is.. but all day today(and it has happened before) I feel like my stomach is burning! I can't keep anything down, not even Soup and the burning just won't go away. I tried to calm it down with tums.. didn't work, with milk.. didn't work! I'm hungry and frustrated, has anyone gone through this before?! I have also had serious acid reflux for the past couple of months, ever since I hit the 100lb mark. I'm confused, I have great days and total crap days (such as this one)!!

I would suggest you call your lapband surgeon. You have done too well and had great success. Don't play with this. The continued reflux can cause you problems. Please take care of yourself and check with your doc. BTW, you look AMAZING!

my friend has lost 100+ lbs and recently has the same issue.

problem was his band was too tight, so the dr. removed a small amount of saline.

i don't remember if he had the burning issue but he did have the reflux.

it worked for him, you problem may not be the same.

i'd check with your dr., no need to be in discomfort.

Like it was already said, call your surgeon, you do not want to risk the complications. Good luck and keep us posted!

Ok, so I talked to a nurse at the clinic I get my fills done and they said it sounds like some serious heartburn and acid reflux and suggested that I take prilosec over the counter. The doctor also wants to see me Monday to check out my band especially considering that I have been throwing up alot more in the past month or so. I am hoping maybe the reflux has something to do with it and taking a little of my fill out will remedy the problem. I would much rather have to really control my eating habits than throwup everything I eat and feel horrible afterwards. Plus, I always like to be prepared for the future, so that if (heaven forbid) my band and I are seperated, I know I can control my eating enough to stay on track and NEVER lose the weight again! anyway, Ill let the thread know what happens! Thanks for your input!

I hope you are feeling better. Did you ever get to your doc? If so, what was his verdict on your band?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
