Triscuit equals "tsk-it"

Recommended Posts

I was visiting my brother and sister in law for a few days and she put out FF cheddar and reduced fat triscuits in an effort to have something for me. I ate 2 triscuits and was stuck like never before. I PB and "brought up" stuff for 1 1/2 hrs. FINALLY it came back and I was unstuck. I was so sore the next day. I thought they would go down as they are crumbly. I guess it is live and learn

On a happy note, we ate out every meal for 3 days and I did not gain a pound!! I am VERY VERY happy.

Anyone else have a bad time with triscuits?

I eat them often but it goes to show...everyone is different. If you chewed really well and still got stuck it may be something you will have to avoid. If you think you ate too fast...give it another try. I've noticed that I sometimes get stuck on the first bite of something and then once it passes I can go on to eat without another problem. For me I've learned to chew and swallow and WAIT! Once I'm sure the first bite has passed I can procede with the rest of my meal. It's a learning process :frown: BTW congrats on making good choices when eatting out!

Funny thing is, I really don't like them. Should have had the cheese with no crackers.

Oh triscuits. I had quite the bad experience with them. My Mom bought some low fat ones for me to have at a party. I ate a couple, chewed well, not fast at all. It was the worst pain EVER.(and I've had many things stuck before). The worst thing was it wouldn't go away!! I PB'd for over an hour. It was horrible. I cringe when I see the yellow box smiling at me on grocer's shelves!!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
