Ok so I admitted that I was cheating and snacking before my last months appointment. Only lost 4 pounds, was upset and disappointed. I knew I was the one completely responsible for that so, I committed to following the rules and doing better this month.

Started off wonderful, lost 5 pounds in about 10 days.

Now the damn scale won't budge. How can I be following the rules COMPLETELY, excercising, eating right and the scale wont move. About a week now!!

Driving me crazy!!!

I said I guess I need an adjustment, I havent had one yet.

A little nervous about that. My husband is of course not wanting me to have an adjustment. He says that I dont eat anything now and he doesn't want to see me taking even less.

Am I crazy now?? Obssessing??

I understand where you're coming from. My problem is eating the wrong things!!! I know I shouldn't eat the "bad" stuff, but sometimes I still eat out of boredom. Today I decided to go back on liquids until I can drop about 5 lbs and break thru my yo-yo 2 lbs since my fill on 3/8. I go back for my 2nd fill on 4/7 and hope I've lost something!

I feel your pain - I too have been the same the past week or so - scale just wont move at all. I am wondering if it might be hormonal Fluid retention for me? Not PMS time just yet but I have noticed over the past couple of months my weight loss seems to be tied to my cycle which is frustrating!!!!!!!!

Might just be the joy of being a woman? :-)

I dont know but I have given myself a cheat day and then started over. Went back to logging everything, tracking Protein and eating 3 meals- not using the Protein Bar as a meal.

Could it be I wasn't taking in enough??

We'll see what happens in the next few days

The band doesn't usually work without the adjustments which is the reason you get the band. The initial weight loss or gain is from your body adjusting. At restriction you won't be eating that much. Are you sure it is not a confidence issue with your husband? The scale will ususally not move if you are not at restriction. Otherwise why would you get a band in the first place?

I am having the same problem. I have been banded for 3 mths. I had my first fill back in Februrary. However I don't to get another fill because I think I was overfilled the first time. I am just now at the point where I can keep food down somewhat. I do feel the restriction now which is good as a month ago I didn't feel that since everything came right back up. Even with that said I have lost no weight since the surgery. Any suggestions?

I dont know what else to do but start over. Keep tracking and doing what I am supposed to do- I have 2 weeks till my next appointment. If I dont show a decent loss then I am going to have an adjustment, which I am not looking forward to.

Good luck to all of us.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
