Go, Todd! I just started a Running Preacher thread after my run -- blame it on the endorphins! :-)

Rock it out! And hey, you're in NJ? If you ever want to plan on getting a LB group together for a 5K race, I'm game! My pace is around 14:00 right now, but I'm working on improving!

Just finished week 5...wasn't sure how in the world I was going to run for 20 minutes, but actually jumped a bit ahead and did 25! :bored:

I hated running more than anything. My husband is a marathon runner, and I have often said that he must be mentally ill to do such a crazy thing...however, now I am really getting into it. I don't think I will ever want to run a marathon, but I feel good when I run. Not fast, mind you, but it is running!

Anyway, enjoy it. Keep us posted on your progress!

I soooo want to do this, but am waiting for my PCP's ok before starting (knee and foot problems and exercise induced asthma). Hopefully when I go on the 22nd I will get the all clear and be on the same track you are!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
