What are you making/taking to Easter dinner

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping my mother will be kind and make at least a few foods I can eat, but just in case I have a small can of tuna packed in my purse. I may apck a small bag of good high qulaity fod for myself jsut in case. She doesn't seem to understand it isn't just quantity that I can't have, it is the need for quality food. Hopefully I can leave my extra bag in the car and never need it, but just in case I will be prepared. I know she is having an easter egg hunt on Saturday withall the grandkids and is ordering pizza:scared2:so I will ahve to fend for myself!

We're hosting this year - although it took a while to convince the family that despite having LAGB I did not have a lobotomy and thus am still able to work my way around the kitchen:laugh:!

*Cook's Honey Ham(Spiral sliced)

*Homemade Creamed Peas

*Sweet Potato Casserole

*Cabbage salad (s-i-l)

*Homemade Rolls(m-i-l)

*Mini sugar free Cheesecakes

and God only knows what baked good my m-i-l will drag over for my husband who suffers so - since I can't make a pie for the life of me!

Happy Easter Bandsters!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
