I'm sitting here in work thinking I should have took the date off, I can't even concentrate.... my biggest fear is that I wake up from the surgery and find out that the surgeon could not put the band on for some reason! I wonder if that has ever happened to someone? I am on Clear Liquids today and I am hungry already... lol Md's office just called and the time is 12:30.....I will be a wreck by that time....Hope all goes well....................

Tomorrow will come and go so quickly and everything will be great! You can fast forward a week and think about the start of your new life. It was about a week after my surgery and I realized my banding date wasnt just my banding date, it was the day I took control and started living my life. Best of luck to you!

I had surgery on friday March 26. I also worked the day before surgery, which I thought was crazy. I stayed at work until 1am trying to complete all of my work before taking a week off. Anyways, the next day everything felt so surreal. I couldn't believe I was having the lapband surgery after so many years of thinking about it. Well, I hope quick recovery and little gas pain. Good luck.

You'll do great and it will be done and over with before you even realize it. My band is a week old today and I still can't believe it. I feel almost back to normal - have been back to work and everything. You will do GREAT! And, you'll have a new "friend" that will help you reach some amazing goals.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
