Tod Campbell 0 Posted November 10, 2005 Hello Everyone - My name is Tod Campbell, and new to this site. I had my surgury performed by Dr. Milton Owens at Alvarado Hospital. He is a very repected and well known doctor who believes in doing fills quickly until he gets it right to avoid the frustration some may go through from not feeling much restriction. I have a 10cc Vangaurd band and had my first 3cc fill 3 weeks after surgery. A week latter I had another, and two more since then, totaling 4 fills. I am now at 8cc. I have lost about 28lbs. Anyone with this kind of experiance?
Ruthie 2 Posted November 10, 2005 I too have a Vanguard band and have been having my fills quickly. It's frustrating but the Vanguard band takes a lot of fills to fill up! I'm at 9.5 cc's. A lot fuller then I ever thought I would be but hopefully it does the trick!
Tod Campbell 0 Posted November 10, 2005 It is strange...I do not feel full yet, I just know when I eat to much as the food comes up. I try to avoid this. It would be nice to feel full. Do you think I will or just become aware of how much I can and can not eat without becoming sick?
vinesqueen 2 Posted November 10, 2005 Hi Tod, it may be that you need to change your definition of what "full" is. Many of us equate "full" with being stuffed to the gills. Maybe you need to concentrate on "being satisfied?" I know that this has worked for many folks. Cheers, and welcome to LBT
Tod Campbell 0 Posted November 10, 2005 Yes - maybee you are right. does being satisfied mean simply that you are no longer hungry, thus you are full? Thanks!
Kelliebelly 13 Posted November 10, 2005 Hiya Tod, I had 8 fills in the first 6 mths after surgery. I did not feel restriction at all until my 7th fill. I had good restriction after the 8th fill and lost 10 or so kgs. The restriction went and I went and got my 9th fill a few weeks ago. I am up to 9.5mls in the VG. Good Luck
CandySmooch 0 Posted November 14, 2005 i too rarely feel "full" since being banded and am at good restriction with my fills and its not "head hunger" either - tod you pretty much summed it up - eat till you are no longer hungry. I eat until I feel I've had enough - but that's only because the band tells me to stop even though I think I can eat more. I just go with it and wait till my next meal or if I'm really really hungry I grab a snack to tide me over and it will - but feeling full? to me feeling full is that comfortable feeling - not sick full - but comfortably full - I never get that with being banded - I only get to eat to take away the hunger - but I doubt I will ever get that full feeling again.
