Slight pain under left rib - Is this a sign of trouble?

Recommended Posts

Banded about three and a half months ago...

Three days ago I got stuck.

I threw up.

The next day, got stuck again.

Threw up.

For the last 2 days, when I lie on my back

I sometimes feel a small sting under the left side of my rib.

If I try to find the pain with my hand, it disappears.

Could it be just soreness from vomiting

or should I be worried further?

:o

I had a really bad stuck episode last week and had the same aftereffect. A few days later it was gone.

I had a really bad stuck episode last week and had the same aftereffect. A few days later it was gone.

Okay...10 days after my vomity episode, I am still sore.

It's ONLY when I'm sleeping on my back and stretching.

In the middle of the night I will sometimes stretch

(more like contract all my muscles) then roll to my side.

When I contract it feels like I have major bruising

under my ribs and it wakes me up.

Now my doctor never told me that

after a stuck and/or vomit episode

I should not eat for a day.

I just read that here.

Could eating after (not right after, but the same day)

an episode be keeping me sore?

:bored:

I am 3 months post op and still get the pain on my left side, my doc says it is where the port is placed and it can take awhile to completely go away. He said to only worry if a new pain starts or it becomes unbearable.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
