wanderingspirit 0 Posted May 5, 2010 I was banded 4/8 have been using both the chocolate and vanilla EAS Sams has it very reasonable. I add 2 scoops to different recipes for Protein Shakes that are on line. One of my favorites is Chocolate, strawberry yogurt, and banana.. tastes like a banana split that has melted. Also adding different SF coffee flavorings I use DiVinci adds a different flavor. My dr and nutritionist just said experiment with flavors and fruits or other things that you like. Squash with pumpkin pie spice and sugar twin brown sugar is good to.
susi1662 3 Posted May 9, 2010 My sample pack of Syntrax Nectar just came in the mail, and I am really disappointed with the taste of the fruit juice flavors. So far I have tried the fuzzy navel and Twisted cherry flavors mixed with Water, and personally I found them awful! Maybe if they were mixed with soy milk they'd be better, but then again, I can't imagine drinking the iced tea flavor in milk! My daughter tried the cappuchino flavored with soy milk, and said it it is pretty good. So for now, I think I will stick with the Body Fortress brand from Walmart. They are cheap, have 26 grams of whey isolate Protein and taste really good!
BetsyB 9 Posted May 9, 2010 I'm not a nectar fan, either. I tried so hard to like it (after all, when you have a huge canister, you really feel obligated to like it!) But I recently ditched what I had. I found it wasn't horrible if I mixed it with Crystal Light. But it still wasn't good--and since I have limited stomach space, I really don't like choking down things I don't like! (On a funny note, I transferred some of it into a regular Rubbermaid canister in my pantry, and my son used it in a Thanksgiving recipe instead of flour. I kind of wondered why his roux didn't thicken, but the recipe, overall, turned out okay. When I was cleaning up after him---grrr!---I realized that he hadn't used flour, but instead used Roadside Lemonade. Of course, he felt compelled to announce this to everyone at the dinner table. But I don't think anyone would have noticed otherwise!)
