Mary these are easy and you can freeze them, just pop one out of the freezer and by the time you get to work it will be defrosted.... nuke for a few seconds and poof !

Egg Muffins

Spray w/Pam a 12 hole muffin pan, put crumbled cooked sausage or cut up ham or bacon or whatever you like in the cups. Some broccoli or spinach or asparagus would be good too. Add grated cheese, cheddar, montery jack or swiss (use light chese to keep calories lower). Don't over fill it w/the meat & cheese, like about 1/2 way or 3/4 at most. Beat 8 eggs with a splash of light cream or milk or half and half, and spoon egg mixture into the cups. Bake 350 degrees, maybe 15- 20 minutes or so, you'll see them start to brown.

The possibilities are endless, you can add any kind of cheese, meat or veggies.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE!!

I have a vitamix and blend frozen blueberries and grapes with Protein Powder. This morning I had a whole apple with the blueberries. It's the only way I get fruit into my diet, I just don't eat it normally. I also put in a whole food powdered Vitamin. My favorite (but not in the 200 range) is Mango, blueberries and grapes, with tablespoon of white grape juice (frozen concentrate) and 1/4 cup apple juice. This was a regular when I lived in Florida, but Mango's are always available or cheap in the Northwest.

Generally I am unable to do Breakfast. More recently, my band has allowed me to choke down a Protein shake around 11am. I think if I wake up earlier I can probably eat earlier, but I haven't really paid much attention to it. To me breakfast is a noon time event. For breakfast I eat:

Cottage cheese, Protein Shake, two scrambled egg whites, yogurt, or a 16 oz. porterhouse steak. What, you can't eat a steak at 8 in the morning. Geesh... you'd think the people in this room all had gastric bands. :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
