PinkMary 3 Posted November 10, 2005 Hello dear Bandsters friends would ya please suggest me some low calories for Breakfast? i would like my breakfast to be untill 200 calories Thanks in advance!
HarleyNana 10 Posted November 10, 2005 Usually on weekends I meet the family for Breakfast out, sometimes the scrambled eggs and cheese go down and stay down, sometimes it doesn't. Typically if I do breakfast, I'll have a few soy chips with Peanut Butter or a Zone bar, (16grms protein) or South Beach bar. I've even had egg salad out of the container in the AM, late AM. banded_for_life 2 Posted November 10, 2005 I have low carb Peanut Butter on low carb wheat toast, the bread I use only has 9 carbs a slice and 45 calories and taste awesome. I also sometimes have low fat cottage cheese with 1 oz of tiny diced ham and 1 oz of Tomato.< /p>
Kathy473 1 Posted November 10, 2005 I usually have just 2 scrambled eggs w/salsa or a packet of grits or oatmeal. But I did find that the 'less sugar' cereals are really good. My favorite is Fruity Pebbles. Those go down pretty well and stay put. I usually let them get a little wet before I eat them. And they are about 150 calories w/skim milk. Hope this helps. mousecrazy 2 Posted November 10, 2005 Most of the time, my breakfast is a Zone Perfect bar...I love Fudge Graham! Other times, I have a Protein Drink, and others I have oatmeal with ground flax (I add that part). I also like vanilla yogurt (Blue Bunny) with frozen berries and just a tablespoon of granola. Hope you get some good ideas! Cindy
Alexandra 55 Posted November 10, 2005 Yogurt with an ounce of cheese on the side is a good one for me. Most days I go with a Protein Bar, Zone Perfect or Atkins. I like those because they have Fiber, which the yogurt/cheese combo does not.
PinkMary 3 Posted November 10, 2005 ahh thank you all for your ideas but you forget that i do not live in USA we dont have Zone Perfect bars and Blue Bunny yogurt or granola or South Beach bar i usually eat a Cereal bar of Nestle http://www.cerealpartners.co.uk/p_fitnesse_bars_nut.aspx its 90 cal. but i read it has a lot of sugar.. maybe i should take less sugar.. the best me 6 Posted November 10, 2005 No granola? I'm sure you have yogurt, though...just not blue bunny brand yogurt, right? I usually do a scrambled egg or two with a bit of shredded cheddar cheese. Maybe a 1/2 slice of whole wheat toast with it. If I'm smart I drink an 8 ounce (I don't know how many mls that is...a portion) glass of milk. I usually forget and don't want to drink it while eating so I kind of miss my opportunity. The cereal bar sounds great, but if too much sugar is something you want to avoid, it's probably not a good idea. You could make some marinated and tenderly cooked chicken breast, slice it and keep it in the fridge for breakfast. Low fat, full of protien, no sugar (unless you dip it in some type of sauce to eat it) no carbs. chicken breast is a great breakfast! I like egg salad too. Time to boil some eggs! ReneBean 3 Posted November 11, 2005 I think you can probably get anything if you order it on-line.... Try www.FitRX.com I can't face food in the morning now, pre-band. I don't know what it will be like once I am banded - but I can't imagine changing a routine that is working. I use Ultramet shakes. The are a "meal replacement" with 50% of the Vitamins you need for the day and 42 grams of Protein. :]
IamCanadian25 1 Posted November 11, 2005 i like carnation instant breakfast in the morning. I'm not much of a eater in the AM, i never have been, this is perfect. i can drink it and i still get something in me in the morning. sometimes i have 1/2 cup of cheerios with skim milk, or a slice of toasted 12grain bread with cheese wiz...mmmmmmmm..hehe good luck! 2bthinagn 3 Posted November 11, 2005 How about a frozen waffle with a snack cup of peaches on it,yummm!
Jachut 487 Posted November 11, 2005 My fave Breakfast is a yummy home made meusli with vanilla yogurt and fresh berries. I hope that still goes down well after I have the band - even if I have to adjust the yogurt/meusli ratio. I also often make smoothies, with berries, milk, yogurt and a weetbix and some Protein powder (weetbix are just wheat flake Cereal in a little rectangle). Multigrain toast and marmalade (sometimes with lots of butter, tsk tsk) pancakes on the weekend. Breakie tends to be a carb meal for me, I dont really eat bread or carbs much at lunch or dinner, unless we have Pasta. If I dont eat carbs at breakfast, I'm lightheaded later in the morning and I can guarantee I'll have a huge carb binge in the afternoon - bread, muffins, Cookies, whatever I can get my hands on. vinesqueen 2 Posted November 16, 2005 I almost always have to have breakfast on the run, what with living the glamour lifestyle of a university student in Idaho... I usually have 1/2 oz of nuts with 1 tablespoon or so of mixed dried fruit. I can eat it in class, and there's not much danger if I drop a nut on my shirt. I'll make up a couple of bags of nuts and fruit at a time, this way I always have them at the ready. There is plenty of crunch and texture. This way I also have something in my backpack so I'm not tempted by the junk-food machines.
