Name That Tune

Recommended Posts

Anwyn - No I meant The Dixie Cups. They sang the song "Iko Iko" years and years ago. They also sang "Chapel of Love". Remember now?

That's too funny Spydr, I had no idea - I've never heard of them. I have heard of the Chapel of Love song though... If it's the song I'm thinking of my sisters and I used to lip synch to it with hairbrushes. :)

Zan - your list is amazing as well! I wished I'd seen Madonna, when she was fun! We've seen a lot of the same shows.

The secret to my long list is that way, way, a long time ago, one friend worked at the big ticket agency (Ticketmaster), and one friend worked for a record label. Good friends to have!

Ray, OMG! You win, Dude! Hey, if you saw Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians, does that mean you are/were in the Dallas area? I used to see them all the time in Deep Ellum.

On the top of my wish list is The Eagles...DH and I have made a pact to see them, whatever the cost. Waiting on the Farewell Tour to come through Texas.

I bet Gwen Stefani was fun, Kimalicious, and the Black Eyed Peas were with her, weren't they? My wish list would have Prince and The Time on it!

(Bowing down) Ray is the Concert Master!

Cindy - I think Ray works at the airport. Ray, didn't you tell us that in one of our Chat threads? And did you REALLY get to see the Beatles or is that really a list of things you wish you could see... I would be so jealous if you did.

I haven't been much of a concert-goer, although I love music and am seldom without it. I live in a world where there is always music playing, if only in my mind.

I was fortunate enough to see

Black Sabbath (with Ozzy) & Pantera

James Taylor

Billy Joel

The Stones

Kenny Loggins

Firefall (at a Taste of Beaverton - Howdy Oregon!)

And of course, we had to go to the Big Stink (6):

Stabbing Westward

The Cult

The Offspring

Everclear

Lit

There were others there that day; but I only remember actually seeing the above. It was a cultural experience.

(Looking at my list, I am thinking - uh, yeah. Eclectic just about covers it!)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
