so... i guess i'm in shock. i mean, i knew that the band was a great thing, but i guess i just didn't realize how quickly it would actually make something happen. my band is not even two weeks old yet and i've already lost 9 pounds! 9 pounds! i'm just like wow! i know that it has a lot to do with me still being on the liquids stage but i'm just so happy to finally see the scale moving and had to share. i was worried that i might get the band and never see anything happen or it'd take forever to see something happen. granted, i haven't noticed anything in the way my clothes fit really yet but the numbers on the scale are moving in the right direction! yay!!!!

YEAH!!!! CONGRATS!!! Meeeee tooooooo :-)

I was banded 3/11 and this morning i was down 9.5lbs!! Just keep it coming.

My dying of hunger has subsided a little..tomorrow i get to start mushies!!! YAY I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to eat actual food!!!!!

I am a little scared of gaining during the mushy stage and into full blown eating. I hope it continues to come off for both of us! We should exchange email addresses so we can keep up with one another since our band date was so close!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
