palmtreegirl70 1 Posted March 23, 2010 Hi there. My name is Linda, and I hope to be banded in May of 2010. I am finishing up the last 6 weeks of my 6 month mandatory supervised diet for insurance purposes, and I am struggling. I really hoped to lose about 20 lbs while on this diet, but I have only been able to lose and regain the same 5 lbs. I feel like such a failure. I am an almost 40-year old wife and mother of 2. I work full-time as a middle school teacher. My life is very full, but I have always been held back because of my struggle with my weight. I am very hopeful after spending the past few days reading all of the success stories on this website. It is so reassuring to hear of people feeling just like I do. I have several friends/family members who have had gastric bypass, but I know of no one who has had the band. I have a million questions and would love to have a buddy to help me through the highs and lows of the coming months. No one knows what it is like unless they have walked in the same shoes.
