pmommy 0 Posted March 23, 2010 I am now 10 days post op and was given the OK to advance to soft foods by my doctor (yeah!). I had scrambled eggs tonight and I ate them really fast, without even thinking or realizing it. Like within a few minutes. I just don't seem to be able to grasp the eating slow. I did not have any pain or discomfort...so should I be concerned? Will I learn the "hard' way after I have some restriction? ONce I have restriction is that when it really matters? Cause at this point, I feel just as I did prior to surgery...I can and want to eat, and I don't FEEL the need to eat slow so I'm forgetting.
TN_girl21 1 Posted March 23, 2010 I am almost 3 months post op. I had surgery on 12/30/09. I was like you. I've had 2 fills. I don't have quite 4 cc's in my band (it holds 10). So I'm definitely not at my sweet spot, but it lets me know if I eat too fast or don't chew enough. But you will definitely learn!! I have! lol And scrambled eggs...I wish!!!!! ToddNYG 0 Posted March 23, 2010 I have had both good and bad moments with eggs. If you continue to eat them fast you will learn the hard way, as you said. Just like anything else you if chew well and take your time you should be fine.
carmen74 10 Posted March 23, 2010 I still struggling with this one. One thing I make sure I do, is to put down my fork/spoon after every bite. Also, when I take a bite, I only take half of what is on the fork/spoon. I have scrambled eggs nearly everyday and (knock on wood) haven't had any problems. My problem is figuring out how long BETWEEN bites to take!
