I had my first un-fill last week.

Recommended Posts

This past friday i had my first un-fill. I feel much better and i have not PD'd since then. I was having lots of problems with eating since july. I had lost 30 lbs and 10 inches on my body since, but all that sliming, just didn't seem worth it.

The question i have is, had anybody ever just gone buck wild after getting an un-fill? or gained a lot of there weight back? I'm kinda nervous about that.

I haven't had an unfill, but I just wanted to wish you luck in finding the right level of restriction. If you don't mind my asking - how much of a fill did you have initially and how much did they take out?

That's great to know. I also have 1cc and I think I need a small unfill. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better! PB'ing on every meal is no way to live.

Smart. Good for you. Nope PBing and sliming all the time is too tight and not good for your band. Just a small amount can help so much. If you still have good restriction, you shouldn't go hog-wild unless you are just cramming junk. One cookie begets another. Same with candy and chips. Follow the bandster eating rules and enjoy good food! Glad you fel better. Good job on being a responsible bandster.

I've had one unfill, and three more fills. No going hog-wild, although I did run for the bus a couple of times. Does that count? (bounced in placed I forgot I had... :))

I know you've got to be feeling so much relief. I put up with that for a month one time, never again. I think it's much tougher being too restricted. You did the right thing, listen to your band.

I was unfilled completely for 2 months and I actually lost 4 lbs during that time. I was a very good bandster duringthattime. I had such fearsof gainingweight. I now have 1.5 cc;s in my band and it is perferct restriction. The key is to not let your head get the best ofyou during this time, make wise choices. I know it is easier said then done, but it can be done. You have had great success so far so that should help to keep you motivated to continue...journal your food, it helps to make better choices when you see it on paper. It really does work!

Good Luck to you :)

Ok, first I want to know what is PBing. And second when you say restriction what does that mean? Does it mean that you had too much Fluid in the band and felt too full or does it mean you could not eat. I have not had a fill yet so I don't know what it feels like. I assumed that my first fill would just make me feel fuller faster. Am I wrong ? please explain this feeling of restriction and the reasons a person would need to get an unfill. Thanks

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
