1 more pound in one more day

Recommended Posts

As of march 23 I will have had my band 4 months. I have lost 39 pounds as of this morning sure hope i can lose one more pound by morning that will bring me to 40 pounds in four months. I had a fill last week and I think I hit my sweet spot at 5cc. Can someone tell me what the sweet spot feels like. I have to be very careful when I eat because my band is so tight. I have to take bite and weight for it to go down before taking another. staying full for about three four hours depending on what I have to eat. it is so weird to actually feel your food going into your stomach kinda freaky. thanks so much for all your good advice from those on this support group.

Yay you!!!!

When I had my sweet spot I could go all day and not even think about food. For me my sweet spot is more of a mental thing than a physical one.

Sounds like your there. You are full for 3-4 hours after eating. Enjoy it, the band my loosen as you loose weight. I was there, then lost it. The last fill didn't quite get me back there. Going to call (right now actually) and see if I can get in for another fill sooner then my scheduled one. You are doing great!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
