What happens when you reach your goal weight?

Recommended Posts

Since I am so close to reaching my goal weight I need to know something. Once I reach it, what happens with the band? Will my doctor fix it to where I want loose anymore or what. I don't want to end up keeping on loosing weight until I am really underweight.

I am pretty close also - 9 lbs. I plan on eating another snack during the day like yogurt or cheese, but pretty much eating the same way I am right now. If you (and I, I guess) still continue to lose weight, then I would personally go and get a titch bit of an unfill. The key will be to find the happy medium where you are comfortable and able to eat enough to sustain your weight but not too much.

Best of luck reaching your goal! The hard part might be trying to stay there, but what an accomplishment to reach the goal!

I asked my fill tech this. He said you get to know your band, you tend to eat a bit more, or exersise less.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
