My surgery is Tuesday! Any advice on what to bring to the hospital? I will be staying one night. I HATE hospitals. I have only had to stay in one when my daughter was born.

I was also wondering what I should have on hand at home for my full liquid diet . . . . . . What was your favorite/most healthful?

Any other surgery day advice?

Bring a pillow for the ride home- to but between you and the seatbelt. Chapstick will help the dry lips you'll have. Of course, bring something comfy that you can slip over your head for the ride home, I brought a nightgown. I hope your surgery and recovery go smooth as silk. Good luck!

Remember to bring slip on shoes, you won't want to bend down to put your shoes on. Take some comfy clothe to change into at the hosptial, so you won't have to wear that awful gown. Make sure you have plenty of sugar free popsicles. Hot broth is good. Tea is also good.

Protein Drinks, broth, sugar-free ice pops, i do believe ever bandster should invest in a juicer. (you can get them cheap, and not as messy as people make them seem) you get your fruits veggies and add powdered Protein (vanilla is great and some health food stores sell plant protein)

i had a one night overnight stay, too, and mine was also the only other time in my life i've stayed in a hospital other than when giving birth. so let's see.... i desperately needed an extra pillow while i was there. they gave me two but that wasn't enough. lol so i might suggest bringing the car ride pillow up with you to begin with so it's there if you need it for the overnight. the slip on shoes was also a great idea and socks, too! chapstick definitely and reading material (magazines or whatever you like) in case there's nothing good on tv. i also brought my cell phone as it was much easier to reach and use than the hopsital phone.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
