I'm 9 days post op. I've been feeling like I'm making good progress healing and I'm compliant with my post-op diet.

But ...

It feels like over the past 3 days, I'm declining, getting more tired and weak.

I'm doing a few household chores, taking care of work online and trying to get out and walk a little (not much though). I've run some errands like going to the post office and dry cleaners. But I feel very tired and weak.

Is this normal?

Thank God - It's not just me!! I can usually get chores and tidying up down by about noon and then I'm beat. Today I fell asleep after lunch for about two hours. I'm also freezing all the time. I just keeo reminding myself that I'm not even two weeks past major surgery and I need to rest. Couple that with no appetite(i.e., no fuel coming in) and being tired is understandable.

It's part of the process. As you recover, you take on more of your everyday responsibilities--and they really do tucker you out.

It gets better---fast. Truly. It won't be long before you feel like "yourself" again.

i,too, have been experiencing the "tired and weak" issues. it's been the past two days for me along with some stomach pains and chest pains and etc. i slept for extended amounts of time just felt worn out after not doing much at all. today has been a bit better though. granted i did get in more Protein today than i have been so i wonder if that's part of it. i've also noticed that i'm freezing all the time, too.

As long as you're getting in your Protein, 60-80 grams and plenty of fluids, 64 OZ your body shouldn't need much more. With the grams will come carbs which will give you some energy. Your body won't be suffering from malnutrition if you eat your protein and drink your Water.< /p>

I soooo know how you all feel. That was actually my biggest complaint after. I was banded 2/3. It took me over three weeks to feel back to about normal. It was about the time I finally added some real food and some coffee/hot tea. I can remember being wiped out just halfway through unloading the dishwasher! It was over a week before I left my house.

It does get better. Hope you feel back to normal soon.

Thank you for your replies!

I was wondering if I was just a wuss or something. Oh yes, and I am always cold too.

I'm having a little trouble getting 64 oz of Clear liquids in .. almost there, working on it. I've started supplementing my Protein with Protein Water which also counts toward the 64 oz Clear Liquids.

It's so nice having cohorts.

Thanks again!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
