Do any of yall ever get smoothies from smoothie King?? I'm in need of a quick Breakfast. I'm so tight in the mornings that I can't eat. And Protein Shakes are making me sick (literally).

We don't have one of those where I am. I am so tight in the morning too that even the Protein ends up coming back up. I end up eating breakfast around 11:30 or 12 Noon. I just know I can't get anything down, so what's the point in irritating everything and screwing up my day LOL!

Nice to know there are others out there that aren't able to eat in the morning. I'm used to it now, but good to know I'm not the only one.

It would be nice if they are good for you, I always considered them a milkshake in disguise. I am assuming from your description that you had this.

Can anyone with a nutritional background tell us if this is good for us or not? Can we use this as a meal, maybe?

That's the one I got! I got the 20 oz as well, and didn't add anything to it. And before I got the band as was dieting on my own, I was drinking one of these a day, and was losing weight. So, maybe I can start having these for breakfast.

BTW, it was very filling. I couldn't finish it all at once. I drank it at 9:00 am and got hungry around 1:00.

Smoothie King gladiator is my shake of choice. My surgeon recommended it. But make sure you get the gladiator (some of the others ones are like someone else said...milkshake in disguise). you don't have to get it "skinny" cause it is totally healthy. It has 45 grams of Protein too! I buy them some mornings and I also buy the big powder tub from them. I like the strawberry more than vanilla and chocolate. when I make it, I add frozen (unsweet) strawberries or blueberries. I never use milk cause my surgeon is against it. If I'm feeling "naughty" I add a tablespoon of peanutbutter to it. yummy!!! I lost 21 pounds on my preop using this shake.

arn't smoothie's just protien shakes? with optional flavors, I found a site that sells a variety of of Protein flavors, but also need a small hand held mixer, shakers just dont get the powder taste gone.

I like OPTIMUM NUTRITION 100% whey Protein - Gold Standard Mocha Cappucino "have not yet tossed one down the sink"

also I lost 50lbs drinking these before my surgery in 2 1/2 months

try this site, several flavors Optimum Nutrition whey Protein | Optimum Nutrition Protein shake

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
