Is it normal to feel no restriction

Recommended Posts

I am about 10 days post op. Except for a little gas floating around my abdomen its like I never had the surgery. Retraining to eat slow and chew chew chew is tough. A few bites I thought I would hurt myself, even though its pretty soft. I am even swallowing pills without trouble. Is this normal until you have a fill? I know everyones different, and it takes a few fills usually. I just didnt think I would feel this good this fast.

I've heard that it is completely normal...i am also 10 days post-op and have very little feeling of restriction. I do feel it when I eat/drink too much...its like a gentle reminder to stop what I'm doing...that's why I've decided to stay on the liquids until I get some fills...I am completely satisfied with it and I've dropped 32lbs so far, so I'm not about to screw that up by going back to solid foods until I have some fill there to keep me from going berserk with the food again...Once I get a fill or two, i will start eating solid foods again.

I'm 9 days post op and am not even on solid foods for another two weeks per my doctor's orders. I'm on strictly liquids and I've been losing alot. Don't even want to mess that so going to stick with my Protein Shakes and Tomato Soup for dinner every night until I get a good fill. Been taking Vitamins so know I'm getting proper nutrition and am not going to starve during this time.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
