antetz 1 Posted March 18, 2010 Can anybody tell me what is ugi means again? my surgen told me to get UGI, Psyc Eval, Nutrionist and seminar. Ravyn 0 Posted March 18, 2010 Hi, it's an upper GI. They want you to go to the doctor for this icky procedure. I believe you have to drink this chalky substance so they can check the upper portion of your intestines to make sure everything is cleared for surger. I hope I don't have to do one. The barium tasted nasty, and I had my bra off with a hospital gown on. There was a cute guy that was helping with the test. I hate not wearing a bra. So, that was kind of embarrassing, lol. Aquarius12459 0 Posted March 19, 2010 Think regular milk of magnesia only much, much thicker. Bleh. Had one done probably close to 20 years ago and would have killed for a hint of banana taste. LOL The good side is that the procedure is painless and I don't recall any needles or anything. They did find that I have a baby or mini hyatle hernia.
