My band is great and has changed my life .......

Recommended Posts

My band is great and has changed my life... because for the first time ever I'm meeting my weight loss goals. It no longer feels like a hopeless endeavor. Now, losing weight feels inevitable instead of insurmountable. I now look forward to seeing people because I know I'll be complimented instead of getting looks of pity. I love my band.

My band is great and has changed my life .......

Because everytime I eat I am conscious of it. The awareness forces me to make a choice everytime I eat or drink. It's like keeping a journal of what you eat, only instantly.

Because I am feeling better, less tired, less sore, not bloat, etc.

Because I actually believe I'll be at a normal weight in the future.

My Band is Great and has changed my life because........

Now I can not only USE a regular bathroom scale, I can SEE it when I'm on it.

I can see if my socks match without sitting down first.

I can drive a compact car from the front seat.

I can hug my wife.

I can climb any stairs.

I have found out that plastic wrap is for the food that DIDN'T get eaten.

I can go through a whole day and have moments when I don't think about food.< /p>

That last one is a big one. That and hugging my wife. She deserves all the hugs she can get!

I would rather roll in a pile of fish hooks, naked, than give up my band.

i LOVE MY BAND AND IT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE BECAUSE.......

it has made me feel NORMAL about food. I am able to do what I want, instead of censoring my activities according to who will see me, etc......I don't care about stuff that doesn't matter anymore--I literally only sweat the BIG stuff. I feel renewed, have more energy, sleep better, laugh more. I feel like I can be seen for who I really am, instead of a physical image that didn't match what was inside.

My band is great and has changed my life because......

I received the best compliment from my husband when he told me how proud he was of me and how good I looked !!! It made me melt and made me feel that it was the best decision I have ever made for MYSELF. The last year has not always been easy but it made me realize that it is about me and no one else. I have taken control and I am not letting food control me.

I wouldn't have the hope and the joy I have now. I don't have to cry at night worried that I will be bedridden with obesity. I have hope that I will look in the mirror and be ok with what I see. I have the joy of knowing Im making a better "me".

I'm waiting for my insurance approval, and this was just what I needed to read to remind me that whatever the struggles are, it will be so worth it. Thanks to all of you for sharing your thoughts!

My band is great and has changed my life ....... because, Now I have hope, I feel I am in control and food is NOT my life anymore. I can smile and my eyes dont dissapear. I have a neck again, I can walk up and down the stairs, I can spend the day walking around site seeing without having to sit down ever 20min. I go out now, I dont hide in my Apt. Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
