Well, lets see, we have 2 Maryland lapband things going on that week. Since you guys are closer, I am going to try to make this one. Can you get an address for the Red Lobster please?

Teresa,

We already have a meeting on Sunday November 20th at 1pm. It will be held at the Ruby Tuesdays in Annapolis. We have been meeting every third Sunday of the month for the last five months. I have sent out information. You just e-mail me asking about the group date.

Is LBT a support group that you are starting? If so that's great but it would have been nice to have everyone get together. I welcome everyone and we have a good group started here. I understand that our times and maybe location has not been just right for everyone's schedules. That is why I also welcome suggestions.

I have received e-mails asking me how you got the Annapolis MD Lap Band Members E-mail Address. I let them know that I had added you to the mailing list and that you got them from there.

This does not look good to the group members. They trusted me with their information and was not sure why they were receiving an e-mail about a different group and location date from someone they didn't even know. I didn't even understand this myself.

Sincerely Karen

I'm aware and have actually been trying to make it to the meetings but I alow other things to get in the way. I had not seen you on line so that is why I emailed you.

Nope, not interested. It's just that another bandster will be in town so I thougt it would be nice to get together for lunch not a meeting.

I replied to their emails letting them know it was a one time thing. I did apologize to those who emailed me. I didn't know I could not reply to them. Please extend my apologies to those whose privacy was interupted, it will not happen again.:D

Dear Teresa and LBT Friends,

Teresa thanks for clearing that up for me. I didn't mean it to come off the wrong way at all. We would love to someday get everyone together. We can try to find a better location if that would help get more people to join. I am also still looking forward to meeting with you all. Just tell me what it will take to make this happen.

I am a very understanding and supportive person. I will continue to work hard on this Maryland Lap Band Support Group. This is the first time I have ever done anything like this and I am learning as I go. It was just that I had been looking for a MD Lap Band support group to join and couldn't fine one. A few people said if I stated one they would come.

So here I am and it has not been so easy. There have been many times I don't feel like going to group. I have had a few friends pass away within the last year and a half. I have been sick with my own health problems too.

But with the support of the group members I have been able to stay strong. They tell me to just come and we will be there for you.

This support group is wonderful and I hope you will still come join us.

Take care,

Karen

Crystalstar/Karen it is no problem, I understood where you were coming from. You have alread done a great job with just getting a group started. Don't change the date and time because it is not going to be convient for everyone. I'm just always running around like a chicken on the weekends but I know I need to committ the time because it is for ME and my health.

I'm sorry to hear about your struggles but support and prayer is key to getting through it. Maybe one of the group members who have been making it the whole time could be you back up, just in case one day you can't make it. I'm sure someone would volunteer to step up to the plate. I do look forward to meeting you guys. See you soon.

Let us know the next time, and I will definitely try to make it there...I think everyone needs support, and it's great to have people who have gone through the same experiences you are. See you soon!

Look up Carrie, there it is? I guess we even need support to get to the support meeting. LOL I like support where ever I go. I'm always calling friends to go shopping with or just run errands. LOL

For real! 3rd Sunday of every month...I'll have to mark it in my calendar (and then not look at my calendar again until after the date has passed). I always do that!!! I try.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
