mlillie36 1 Posted March 16, 2010 Hi, I got my lapband on Feb 18. At first I was doing great, but now it feels like my full apetite is back. I am so worried and I my nutritionist told me to eat until I felt satisfied. I have a really hard time finding that place. I go back to the dr on 3/24, hopefully I will get my first fill. I could really use a mentor and someone to touch base with maybe once a day via email or phone call. Just someone who has "been there, done that". I live in Texas, I am married, 3 grown children. I am 48, Female, employedfull time. And I like long walks on the beach...just kidding, I could not resist that.

Hi Millie: You can come on down and walk at the beach here! Seriously though, I'm here to help. It is very common sometime in the first 2-6 weeks to suddenly start feeling hunry again. This happens primarily because all of the surgical site has healed and any swelling that provided restriction is gone. It doesn't mean anything is wrong- it just means you are probablyr eady for a fill. Can you call to see if you canget in to the doctor's early? LeighaMason 19 Posted March 16, 2010 Hey Millie, I am in Texas too! I would be happy to help you, I was banded on 10/20/09. And by the way, I gained weight between getting my band and my first fill. So I understand the only reason I got the band is because I was always hungry. I could eat a full plate of food and then be hungry an hour later. The band really helps with this you just have to make it until you can start getting fills. Try and only eat a cup of food at a time even if you have to eat 5 times a day, this way you wont have to worry about stretching your pouch. You can PM me anytime, I am usually at my desk most of the day.:scared2:
