How are you guys doing with your weightloss? How much is in your band? How is your restriction? What is your biggest challenge with the band? I seen someone post this for oct and enjoyed reading it. Its good to see how others are doing with the same month surgery date. It gives you a boost..If they can do that then I need to try harder.. It helps me stay on track. so come on November bandsters how are you doing???

Hello! I was banded Nov. 17th. I have lost about 23lbs which I would never have done without the band, but I wish it were more. I am sure I could be doing better with the exercise, but I manage to find lots of excuses not to go to the gym! I just had my 4th fill and am feeling pretty good restriction, but I can't tell if I am at the sweet spot that everyone talks about. My problem is that I love junk food. I have been pretty good about staying away from it, but it calls me by name and goes down so smoothly! Part of my craving is stress. My dr. is thinking about putting me on an anxiety med. We'll see...

Good Luck in your journey!

Hey there...there's a large thread for those of us who were banded Nov of 09. If you look under the Monthly Lap-Band support groups forum, and then go to 2009, you should find november in there. Good Luck!!!!!!!

Hey I was banded Oct 29th and am down 80 pounds so far! I am thrilled. I have had four fills getting fifth tomorrow. i have about 5cc in my 11cc band. Restriction isn't the greatest but way better than pre band. I need to get on track with my Protein and Vitamins though. I fell way off the wagon. Congrats on your success.

I was banded Nov. 16. I have lost 58 pounds. I have had 4 fills, some working better then others. Restriction has been off and on for me. I have 7ccs ( I think) in a 10cc band. I have been doing well with excersise- cardio 5-6 days a week and weights with a trainer 3 days a week. Thanks for the thread- it was nice to post my progress.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
