I heard of it at a support group but have not tried it.

I do OK with whole wheat or whole grain. Not so good with white or french bread.< /p>

Forget bagels...ugh!

I have pretty much given up on bread too, I can have a very thin small piece of french bread if I toast on both sides, almost to be like a cruton, and tonight I tried a whole wheat thin Orowheat hamburger bun, I only used 1 side and toasted it and was able to eat some of it. At least it felt like a real hamburger. But for the most part bread is not my friend.

I only use hamburger Buns as handles. I tear them away as I eat. Every once in a while I can eat a little tiny piece of it to get a taste.

I feel like I am eating a hamburger that way. But I also have to be careful that I don't take too big of a bite. Eating with my hands can cause that. Sandwiches and burgers are especially bad for that!

I love it even though it's almost five dollar a loaf. But if you keep it in the freezer and only take out a serving at a time , it doesn't go bad. I wouldn't recommend leaving it out of the fridge.

Plus I can only eat it toasted because not toasted, I think it has too much of an earthy flavor and its so dense. But toasted with some pb or jelly or butter, yummy.

It rarely elevates my blood sugar and satisfies my bread urge. You can find it in most freezer sections in the bread area or in a health food store. It supposedly is made like they would make it in the bible days...au natural.

Scripture:

Ezekial 4:9

"Take wheat and barley, Beans and lentils, millet and spelt; put them in a storage jar and use them to make bread for yourself

I had given up on breads too- they ball up get dought and get stuck -

however at work the other day i didnt plan and didnt rbing anything. - A girl i work with has celiac so she uses all these gluten free , rice breads, she has this "english muffin" which looked more like a biscut - it was rice - she gave me half that I ate with tuna salad, , i was amazed at how well it went down, no pain, no sliming.. i felt like i actually ate a sandwhich, i talked with a nurse a work with and she said it was probably because it was wheat and gluten free and those are what cause the dough effect.. i am going to buy some and see if i have the same result.. they are even big enough to use as a burger roll!! If it was a freak thing and i cant eat them at least i know someone at work who can use it lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
