tcampbell3 0 Posted March 11, 2010 I had a fill in Sept. 2009, almost 6 mos. ago. After the fill, it took about a month for me to get use to the change in the way I had to eat. Very tight in the a.m., looser in the evening. I could eat pretty much what I wanted in the evenings. I have been sick lately with bronchitis, lots of coughing. Now all of a sudden, I am having trouble getting anything down anytime of the day. Sometimes if I drink something really hot, I can eat some, but that doesn't always help. I am also having a problem with my throat feeling like it's closing up. What in the heck is going on? I'm so frustrated, because even liquids are difficult at times ):

It sounds like you need a small unfill.
tcampbell3 0 Posted March 12, 2010 the odd thing about what is happening to me though, is that for the past 5mos. everything has been fine(after my fill).
crzytchr 3 Posted March 12, 2010 All of the coughing could have caused some swelling, and if it is was bad enough, you may need to have the band checked. I have seen posts that extreme coughing had caused a slip. It is probably swelling, though. Call and get it checked out. Tell the doctor exactly what has happened and when it started. That is really the only person that can help diagnose the problem. Get it checked out and update when you find something out.
Kyleighp 3 Posted March 12, 2010 From my experience, cough always causes swelling. I would go on liquids for a couple of days, and see if that helps! That is what has worked for me anyway.
aimerus 0 Posted March 12, 2010 Yes. Frequently. My dr describes my band as "picky." I'll be going along fine for a few months and then - BAM..I suddenly can not eat the same foods or amounts that I had been consuming with no problems for months before. My band is also very sensitive to coughing, colds (and drainage from them). I am also waaayyy tighther the last 2 weeks of the month b/cause of hormones. I have had this thing since June 2008 and still can not quite figure it out. In fact, I am having an episode now. I went for a slight fill on Monday and have been fine all week. Good restriction but no PBing or anything. Suddenly, after my morning smoothie- I feel very very tight, my chest hurts and I could not keep my coffee down. I feel like I ate a giant piece of chicken and it is just sitting there but I have not anything solid since last night (baked potato..) Ugh. Yes, so I feel your pain. Good luck! Take it very easy over the weekend and call your dr if the problem persists.
