I have had 2 fills and I am at 5.75cc You will need fills as you lose weight because the fat around your banded area will lessen allowing more space .

Everyone is different..I was at great restriction at about 6.3. Now I am about 5.5--I have restriction, but I am not super tight...I am hoping to maintain at this restriction, maybe even be able to go a little looser than this....

I guess then I am a really big freak because I had my first fill today and the doctor offered to put 4cc's in my 10cc band, but I told him I would perfer 2ccs right now because I feel restriction. I got the 2ccs and I feel as if I have restriction. I get full very easily. Let me know what you guys think.

I have around 5cc in my band. I've been at this level for over a year now.

I have an AP Standard 10cc band.

Everyone is different and the main thing is that you are happy with the fill level. If you want a bit more later on, then you can get more. If you are happy for now, stay there for a while.

With every fill that I have gotten I have felt restriction. I got my first two fills in October and November, which put me up to 2ccs. I felt good restriction so I didn't go back until last week for my third fill after I noticed I was able to eat way more than I should. The nurse said I was VERY open and put me up to 5ccs. Now my restriction is crazy tight! I am just now getting used to it today. I wasn't sure if it was too tight or I just needed to adjust to it, but I definitely don't think I will be going back for another fill until I lose another 20 lbs at least. But it is different for everyone, so you definitely shouldn't feel like a freak if you don't feel restriction. Good luck to you...you'll hit your sweet spot and when you do you'll love it!

I have had very tight restriction since September at 5.3cc in a 10cc band. They do include some fat under the band to help prevent erosion and I think people have different thicknesses of stomach tissue inside the band.

No I'm a freak i have 7.5ccs in an 11cc band and I still dont have the restriction I want and hear everyone talking about. I seriously want to throw up just one time - i can still eat all the foods i used to and I have never gotten sick. I have to stop on my own and its hard!

The person that does my fills compared the band and fills to jeans. When they are new they are nice and tight but as you wear them they loosen up.

I have only 3cc and have good restiction on most days. I am still able to eat more that i should sometimes and will still be hungry before my 4 hours is up. I went for a fill and i was to tight, so they removed what was put in. I guess 3cc is it for me. But I not losing any weight. I wonder WHY?

i have 5.6 on a 10 cc allergan band. And i am restricted we only adjust up or down .1 cc's if anything at all. I do go in every month so they can keep tabs on my weeight loss/restriction levels. I'm feeling a bit stalled so suspect we may up it next time. we let some out as I had gurgling and had been steadily losing 8 lbs a month. Now I am aobut 40 lbs from goal so that weight loss is getting tougher.

I got banded last Aug. and only since the end of January have I finally felt restriction. I have 7.4 cc in my 14cc band. Up until then I was able to eat most anything, now I'm lucky if I can eat a 1/2 cup of food!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
