This is gross I know - Pooping Issues

Recommended Posts

I've been through similar issues and for me it came and went and I havent had an issue for aaages till just lately.

I never ever get constipated but I'd go and suddenly, without warning, strong cramps would start. I'd poop and poop and poop for like 2 or 3 hours - normal consistency, must so much of it, lol. I dont know where i was hiding it all, I'd go five or six times in that time. Not diarrhoea though, just cramps (which got to making me puke stage) and normal poop. The rest of the day I'd be shaky, wrung out and ill.

Then that would be it until some sudden event again months down the track.

For me, we suspect it was endometriosis.

However, for the last five or six weeks, I've had different issues - a strong urge to go which would be nothign but a bit of froth and bubbles to be completely gross. Six times a day. Stinky gas. Horrible smelling bm's. Kind a dark/reddy colour. I have not had a solid one in weeks. Its really weird. We treated the whole family for worms, that made no difference. So I'm off to the doc tomorrow. There's nothing else you can do but see a doctor, you have to check it out. It could be a disruption to bacterial balances, a fungal thing, something relatively more serious like polyps or a motility issue, or an ongoing infection, you just dont know. Nobody can tell you online, you really need to be tested.

I also have Constipation problems all my life. Nothing worked for me.

since the band I have been worse, and take Benefibre daily, also use citrate of magnesium about once a month to clear me out when I just can't take the full feeling and pain anymore.

I had my gallbladder out last week and since then I poop every day. It is such a wonderful feeling to feel cleaned out.

The liquid you get after the constipated stuff is normal after being constipated. Normal is not the right word, but it is what happens. Sometimes when the older people I used to take care of were constipated all that could get out was the liquid. Not going to tell you what I had to do to help them... Ugh, the joys of nursing.

I would try more Fiber, I have been eating fiber Plus mini wheats Cereal every morning and that has helped alot. Just remember to let them soak in the milk, they go down easier and don't get stuck.

But do see your Dr, he might want to have you try something else, rather than upset your stomach like you have been.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
