antetz 1 Posted March 9, 2010 Ok so i went to see the surgeon dr. korman from L.A. Bariatric and he gave me this list. First is im goin to see my primary doctor this thursday. I have a list of things i need for him to get me autorisation for a nutritionist, psyc eval, seminar and ugi or something. My question is how many times do i have to see this 3 specialist? so i can submit my result to my doc? I have blue cross of ca HMO. I called them and they say that they will cover my surgery. HappyMom 1 Posted March 9, 2010 I have Anthem BCBS of California. I only had to visit the surgeon, nutritionist, and psych lady once before my final paperwork was submitted for approval. That is all that was required for my case. I do think that I have a PPO instead of HMO through BCBS. I do have to say, that no matter if it is a PPO or HMO, BCBS has some of the least stringent requirements and fastest processing times for this type of surgery. You will see many posts on this forum about BCBS...and most people don't seem to have any problems with authorization. Good luck to you and hopefully it will be a fast process. Hello! so how long was the wait from the day you got all the evaluation done to the day you got your surgery date?
NinaC 0 Posted March 16, 2010 I went to Dr. Korman and I had to do all of that too. It wasn't too bad, it just took a few weeks. I was a cash pay so I didn't have to wait for insurance approval. If you have any questions, please ask. I loved Dr. Korman!!
