liannatx 897 Posted November 6, 2005 I will be 2 weeks out on Thursday. I know that exercising is out of the question so soon but was wondering when I could ride my Recumbant bike. It seems no more strenuous than walking, which is okay to do. Or does it use ab muscles or something I dont know about?
vinesqueen 2 Posted November 6, 2005 two weeks out you should be fine riding the bike. I was horseback riding 3 weeks out. Just don't push yourself to hard yet
NJChick 3 Posted November 7, 2005 Ask your doctor. Mine said NO exercise for another 4 weeks. Be careful.
PamRN 0 Posted November 7, 2005 I've read no abdominal stressing exercise for 6 weeks, but walking, running and bike riding were ok after one week. My doc said resume normal activity including exercise in 2 weeks, no ab straining for a month.
MerryHearted 20 Posted November 7, 2005 Mine said to do anything that was comfortable, just no swimming for 2 weeks. They pointed out that anything involving abdominals probably wouldn't be comfortable right after surgery. I'm not sure why a recumbent bike would be a problem... Parvathi 2 Posted November 7, 2005 Ask your doctor. I was fine riding a bike two weeks out and started Water aerobics then too. Just take it easy and stop when you feel like you need to (no reason to push yourself right now).
