Why am I getting the "Full Signal" but still getting hungry after 3 hours?

Recommended Posts

I thought the full signal was to hold for 6 to 7 hours.

But no matter what I eat, I'm hungry too soon.

:smile2:

Is it a fill issue?

I've only had 2 so far...5.5 cc's out of 10.

It could be a couple of things. One could be you are ready for another fill. Or two could be that you're not eating enough Protein to sustain you the 4-5 hours. Or a combination of the two. Another thought is are you drinking during your meal or within an hour after eating? That could do it too.

My surgeon told me a meal should hold me 3-4 hours. 6-7 hours is a long time between meals. Maybe you should speak to your surgeon or nutritionist about your expectations?

Or perhaps you should break your meals up into mini-meals. I am allowed to eat between meals, just not to brainlessly eat. Planned out foods are fine. Junk food, not fine.

Best wishes!

6 -7 hours between meals is a heck of a long time. Although the 3 meal per day regime with no Snacks in between may be ideal most surgeons recognise that it is very hard and can be unachievable. Mine has no problem with me having a snack inbetween so long as it is something healthy. Plan your snack so that you do not grab the nearest unhealthy high fat thing that you can find.

Trying to become tight enough that you can go 6 - 7 hours without food often leads to being so tight that you can't eat proper solids and then you resort to high cal sliders that fill you up for even less time and end up gaining weight.

Much better to have a planned snack if needed.

Even without perfect restriction, your stomach capacity is significantly smaller. Your smaller stomach gets full---but because there's less-than-optimal restriction, empties faster than ideal.

I don't know anyone whose hunger stays at bay for 6-7 hours, though. I'm not sure that's a realistic goal. I'll be ecstatic with 4.

I also think your expectations are a little too high. I eat Breakfast at 7, lunch at around 11:30 and dinner at 5 or 6. There is no way I could go 7 hours, but I also have a snack if I need one.

Yup, ditto to everyone else. My schedule... breakfast (shake) at 6:30, spin at 7:00, small snack around 10, small snack around 12, proper lunch at 2, dinner around 7 and the occasional small snack in the evening if I feel I need it. I just make sure all Snacks and meals are nutrient dense, go for Proteins first, and if still hungry a bite or two of a veg or fruit.< /p>

And in between I fill the void with Water, but of course not within an hour before or after a meal. It's nearly impossible if I don't meticulously plan every day. I made it through six months of self-imposed no restriction and still managed to lose 10 or 15 pounds while attempting to maintain. Worked for me, but I am sure it wouldn't work for everyone.

I'm with everyone else on this one. I eat every three to four hours even if it's a small healthy snack. I get hungry and I believe I'm pretty close to my sweet spot. Best wishes!

Hi, I was banded Sept 08 and am now, after a fill last week at 11cc. When I was at 10cc I would eat and be hungry 3 hours later. I was told to keep getting filled until you have restriction. It also depends on how light you eat. If you don't eat enough meat like chicken, you get hungry sooner. I have not lost a lot of weight, so I am hoping 11cc is better.

I was told 4-5 hours. At about 5 hours my stomach tells me it's time to eat *but* I also drink a Protein shake (low carb, low cal) between meals. I don't think I'd last the 5 hours if I hadn't had a Protein Shake 2.5 hours before.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
