I'm 6 days post-op today and feeling *nearly* like my old self. Good energy, no pain, etc.

BUT- I'm hungry again for the first time today. And I have another whole week of liquids.

I know I have to do this to help heal my stomach-- but wow- fluids just do not keep me full for more than an hour and a half- maybe 2 if it's a Protein shake?

I hate to do more than 3 Protein shakes a day; what do you guys think? I've added cream Soups, which is helpful. Any other suggestions?

I had the same issue. After the swelling caused by surgery went away, I was starving. My doc only kept me on liquids one week (however, follow your docs orders). There was so much hunger until a few fills I was wishing I had had bypass. Now I love the band! Keep doing what your doing! You will get through what is known as "bandster hell".

Fight it!

Find a way to take your mind off of it. Go for a walk every time the feeling comes or something else.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
