Anyone have face treatment for wrinkles/ sun damage?

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure about the best place to post this, so lounge it is.

Has anyone had any type of treatment on their face to get rid of or minimize sun damage spots and/or wrinkles?

Laser treatment? chemical peel? ...............

If so, did it work? Does it hurt? Do you have to hide for a week?

Botox and juviderm are the best for wrinkles

i know clinical treatments such as laser and botox are effective but they're very costly. i's suggest anti-wrinkles creams like NeuCell which also effectively reduces fine lines and wrinkles.

I'm 44 next week and am not bothered by wrinkles yet, but having grown up in Australia and being loving having a tan, I'm showing signs of sun damage - I'm getting those brown age spots and a red nose, lol. My solution is to tan even darker to hide it, but I know that's not going to cut it for much longer. Interested to read what others say.

Just had eye lift - lifestyle face lift - with laser - and for me the laser didn't hurt at all - truly no pain per say period - a little discomfort mostly from the staples behind my ear.. I bruised pretty bad under chin purple like an eggplant and bruising down neck and behind ear and under eyes (those are almost gone) - I was expecting major pain from Lasering - as this is what gf who had it a couple of yrs ago told me - but I gotta say pain was minimal and very controllable with liquid tylenol..

Had surgery 8/8 - was suppose to go back to work today - but haven't - May go Friday - I didn't tell anyone I was having it - didn't think the swelling would be so bad - still peeling some - but each day it's a little better -

The lift was my 4 yr Anniversary Present to myself ;0)

What a great reward! So happy for you :)

I had a tattoo lasered off years ago and that was not too bad, but I'm a bit chicken about anything on my face.

(for tatto removal they have to laser it several times with months between sessions to allow the broken up ink to be carried away by the body)

I was asleep so no pain during - or after either - I was expecting face to feel super sunburned but nothing... Can't wait for swelling to go away - Patience isn't my middle name..

My GS got a tattoo removed too -

I love how smooth my face is from lasering - go see a doc about it..

i'm currently having treatments done that include IPL, some different lasers for more stubborn spots/blemishes (including a CO2 laser, but i'm not sure about the name of the other 2 they use), ionic Vitamin C treatments, light chemical peels, ultra sonic lifting treatments and moisturizing treatments...and maybe a couple other things. i live abroad, so i got a great deal on a package with 16 visits, with 6 of them including the IPL/laser. i'm on viist number 7 and i can see a HUGE difference, particularly with some of the darker spots. so far i've only done 2 of the IPL/laser treatments. i've gotten many comments from both people who see me daily and who haven't seen me in a while that notice a difference (for the better!). it's not too painful, though on the days i have the IPL/laser, they apply a numbing gel before they do the lasers. it still stings a little, but it's totally bearable. i get it done on saturday mornings and my skin is back to normal on monday morning for work. i'm 35, but i played tennis for YEARS and wasn't the best about sunblock, and i love the beach, so i had quite a bit of damage. i recommend IPL at a minimum because i think it's made a huge difference for the overall appearance of my skin. it's firmer, though there are still fine wrinkles, and it's much more even-toned.

I use obagi products that I get from my cosmetic dermatologist - all used together, they lighten sun spots and make wrinkles shallower. It also helps with acne, which I still have thanks to PCOS. I have one deep vertical forehead wrinkle that I've had botoxed.

I suggest you retinoid creams, Renova and Retin-A as options. collagen injections and Dermabrasion are other most effective treatments regarding wrinkles and sun damaged skin.

I'm considering having fillers in my cheeks to help with the tired look from the bags under the eyes which are accentuated by fat loss . Would love to hear from anyone that has had them.

Old thread, but since it came up again I thought I would update a bit......

In Nov. 2011 I went to a dermatoligist to have a spot on the end of my nose checked out. While I was there I asked about the sun damage treatments. He said don't waste your money on any of the creams and such because they do not work. He said if I wanted the best bang for my buck, the new laser treatments are the way to go. He gave me the number for another dermatoligist who does them well. I have not called that one yet as I did end up having a tiny spot of cancer on my nose. I spent some $$$ getting that taken care of.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
