Bugaboo77 18 Posted March 3, 2010 Hi, Hannah. I am also new. I am 32 years old and 250lbs. My BMI is 40. I am TOTALLY with you. I have been struggling with my weight for a while now and Really want to do the banding. My wonderful husband of 6 years is totally supportive, but a little hesitant in this crazy idea that I have. =) I am just getting started in this process. He is going to a seminar with me this week put on by a surgeon in my area. Baby steps... I, too, would love some info from anyone regarding their life and experiences. I heard a saying that TOTALLY speaks true to weight loss surgery. Weight loss surgery is like a hammer. It's a tool to help you reach your goal. You can't build a house with a hammer...it's a tool to help you build it. Just like with weight loss, your weight loss surgery will not make you lose weight. It is a tool to help you lose weight. Good luck to you!
