seehawksimms 0 Posted November 5, 2005 Banded 10/22 by Dr. Joya in Puerto Vallarta. I swear I feel like I could eat anything! Did anyone else feel like this? No Restriction? I barfed several times after surgery due to the anesthetic. Does the band slip up or down? Did I just heal incredibly fast?
Ohtobethin 0 Posted November 5, 2005 I was banded on Oct. 25 and I still feel restriction, but also have a lot of pain still near where I imagine the port is. I am feeling hungrier between my liquid meals. Are you still on liquids? I don't get to go to the 'blended' stage until next Tuesday. Can't wait. seehawksimms 0 Posted November 5, 2005 I am on Blended right now.. Not really hungry...head hunger but not stomach growling hunger.
Ohtobethin 0 Posted November 5, 2005 What kind of things are you eating now? I really miss eating. I think we have about the same amount to lose. My Dr. said I was 85 pounds overweight. Can't see myself getting down to what I was 30 years ago but would be happy with 50. Do you still have pain?
seehawksimms 0 Posted November 5, 2005 No pain at all. Port site is tender..wouldn't want to smack it. The worst part of the surgery was barfing from the anesthetic. I had surgery Saturday 6pm 10/22. overnight in hospital. Sunday in hotel, flew home Monday. Work on Tuesday. pretty much 100%. Right away. Just battling head hunger and have the feeling I could eat anything without restriction. I just had a scrambled egg. Your brain wants to continue eating but actually am not physically hunger. I just think I could eat more and more and more. Maybe I couldn't and it is just my paranoia.
Ohtobethin 0 Posted November 5, 2005 Wow, I can't figure out why I have so much pain still. It is like a 'burning' in my port area. I cannot bend to pick something off the floor or even roll over in bed. I still cannot sleep on my left side. I go to the Dr. on wed. the 9th for my post op so I will ask if it is still painful. At first I thought it was because of my age but I notice that we are close in age. Bummer. I could actually be enjoying my time off work. My insurance paid for the surgery and I have 2 weeks off work. I guess I am blessed to have such good coverage.
thinkthin 0 Posted November 5, 2005 Hi there, just thought I'd add that I before getting filled, you will find that most people have virtually no restriction. I didn't really experience any restriction until the 2nd fill, and more after the 3rd. It is all about healing initially, so don't get too concerned about how much your losing, etc. Try to stick to your low calories and start exercising as soon as you possibly can! I am a firm believer in lots of protein!!! Shirley: There are other postings here regarding port pain, you may even want to do a search and see what you can find. I had no pain, and could sleep on my side on the 2nd night. Its a good thing you're going back to the doctor soon because you may well have an infection or something. Good luck to you in your journey!!
blkbttrfly33 0 Posted August 25, 2010 (edited) So I had surgery on 8/3/10 and have lost 20 lbs. over the course of the pre-surgery fasting and to date. But I'm starting to feel like maybe I'm eating more than I should. I definitely feel some restriction and eat less than I used to. And have made the mistake of getting a little sick from over eating. I'm just wondering how much should I be eating? I am scheduled for my first fill on 9/7/10 and I don't know how much to get. My weight loss has stopped over the last week and I am so afraid of failure. This was a lot to go through not to be successful. I ate two cups of food today and that was a big mistake. I feel extra full but I'm not dying. Does anyone know how much I should be taking in and how will the doctor decide how much to fill at the appt.? I have so many questions. Does anyone know how much I should be taking in and how will the doctor decide how much to fill at the appt.? I have so many questions. Do you mean you ate 2 cups of food in one sitting/meal, or 2 cups total for the day? I've been directed to eat 1 cup per meal 4 times per day. Losing about a pound a week since surgery 4/26/10.
