Does everyone have to pay for a unfill?

Recommended Posts

I went for my 3rd fill and there was a RUDE nurse practicioner there who did it. I was so full I couldnt swallow Water without it hurting..I had to come back a week later to get some out..I had to pay a 75.00 office visit! I just thought that was crazy! I didnt tell the nurse practictioner to put that much in there!!

So I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced the same thing??

I did get my unfill but now I am not feeling restriction at all and I am suppose to go tomorrow to get a fill (this appt was set up a while back) however the dr office called me on Friday and wanted to cancel.

I want to keep the appt though..I dont want it to hurt like it did but I do wanna feel full..I am starting to get very frustrated!!

I am sorry you had such a rotten experience. At my practice if a person needs an unfill because of vomiting within a week there is no charge, after that there is a $500 office visit fee the same as if a fill was given. What a racket!!!!! Because of that I have put off getting an unfill. I will go in for a small unfill right before my TT in 2 weeks. Of course that will be $500 and when I get it put back a couple weeks later it will be another $500!!!! Crazy, huh?

wow 500?? that is a fortune I thought NYC was bad but no! where do you live?

We are given 3 days to adjust after a fill. I'm having opposite problem i had .1 put in i had been gurgling this past w/ but also TOM; she thought it was too tight - so we took the .1 out this month and i'm starving now. Well I was complaining of having no room for veggies I guess i better start eating them!!

All of my adjustments for the first year after surgery are free, whether it's a fill or unfill. After the first year, adjustments are then only $50. I can't imagine paying $500! That's highway robbery!

I was self pay.. when I go to see my surgeon, if I get a fill, I pay $150... if I go and he doesn't do a fill, I pay nothing... if I have to go back for a slight unfill after a fill, I have gone back twice, the first time was a week later, the 2nd time the next night... I was NEVER charged for a unfill...have I mentioned that I LOVE my surgeon?? LOL

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
