Has anybody been to a "bone bender" since being banded??

My back and hip are killing me , but I am wondering if all of the twisting and turning and snappin and popping of my body will cause any harm to my band??

I've had lots of chiropractic adjustments since being banded. The only one I didn't have initially was "side posture", you know the one where top leg is bent. We felt that due to my large size we didn't want to risk increasing the intra-abdominal pressure in any way. Now that I'm not so bulky (but I'm still far from slim!) I get it done.

How I had that adjustment done instead was face down with the table drop pieces set.

Talk to your chiropractic doctor about it. He or she will work with it.

I was all messed up, don't know if it was from loosing all that weight so quickly or what but I went to my doc who's also my chiro and he did a ton of adjusting...I'm SSSOOOO glad I went!!!!! Everything was very much out of wack and I feel so much better now. I'm 10 months out though so I'd talk to your doc about it first.

How funny you posted this because I just had this convo with my doc yesterday. He said the chiro can't shift the band or hurt it in anyway. He advised that I tell him about my surgery and where my port is to avoid discomfort to me if it puts pressure near it.

Hope this helps! Let me know how you make out!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
